Getting Started

What are the system requirements?

WindRider requires iOS 17.5 or later, an iPhone with GPS capability and motion sensors, and approximately 50MB of free storage space. An internet connection is optional for core features but recommended for map downloads and iCloud sync.

What permissions does the app need?

WindRider requires location services for GPS tracking and navigation, and motion & fitness access for riding analytics. These permissions are essential for the app's core functionality. You can control these permissions through your device's privacy settings.

Navigation & Route Planning

How do I plan a custom route?

Open the Map tab, tap to add waypoints or use the search function to find destinations. You can customize route preferences (scenic, curvy, fast, or standard), add multiple waypoints, and calculate your route. Once planned, you can save it as a tour for future use.

How do I start navigation?

After planning your route, tap "Start Navigation" on your planned route. The app will provide voice-guided turn-by-turn directions. You can view real-time progress and arrival estimates during navigation.

Does the app work without internet?

Yes, WindRider can function without an internet connection for navigation and route planning once maps are downloaded. However, an internet connection is required for initial map downloads, route calculations, and iCloud sync.

How do I import GPX files?

You can import GPX files from Garmin, TomTom, and other GPS devices through the app's import feature. The app supports batch import of multiple GPX files at once. Imported routes can be saved as tours.

How do I export routes?

You can export your routes as GPX files to share with other apps and devices. This feature is available in the tour management section.

Voice Navigation

What languages are supported for voice navigation?

WindRider supports voice navigation in English, German, Spanish, and French. The app automatically uses your device's language settings, but you can change the voice language in the navigation settings.

How do I adjust voice navigation settings?

You can adjust voice language, volume, and announcement distances (500m, 200m, 50m) in the Navigation Settings section of the Profile tab.

GPS Tracking & Analytics

How do I track my ride?

Start tracking from the History tab. GPS and motion tracking will automatically record your path, speed, and motion data. You can view real-time metrics during your ride.

What GPS accuracy profiles are available?

WindRider offers three GPS accuracy profiles: Basic, Standard, and High Accuracy. You can select your preferred profile in the Tracking Settings. Higher accuracy may use more battery power.

What motion analytics does the app provide?

The app tracks lean angles, acceleration patterns, braking intensity, and cornering smoothness. This data is processed entirely on your device and provides insights into your riding style and safety recommendations.

How do I view my ride history and analytics?

Check the History tab for completed rides with detailed statistics. You can view analytics for different time ranges (7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 1 year, or all time) and explore performance charts and geographic heatmaps.

Tour Management

How do I save a tour?

After planning a route in the Map tab, you can save it as a tour. Saved tours can be accessed, managed, and shared from the Tours tab.

How do I rate a tour?

You can rate tours from 1-5 stars in the tour details view. This helps you organize and identify your favorite routes.

Settings & Privacy

How do I enable or disable iCloud sync?

iCloud sync can be enabled or disabled in the Profile tab under Sync & Backup settings. When enabled, your routes, tours, and settings will sync across your devices.

How do I control data collection?

You can control data collection through the Profile settings. You can disable usage analytics (disabled by default), control motion tracking, and manage iCloud sync. All motion and analytics data is processed locally on your device.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual rides, tours, or all data through the app settings. You can also request complete data deletion by contacting us at privacy@adriank.app. We will process your request within 30 days.

Safety

Is the app safe to use while riding?

WindRider is designed to minimize distraction with voice navigation and background operation. However, you should always prioritize safety. We recommend using a proper motorcycle mount, using voice navigation, and pulling over safely if you need to interact with the app. Never let the app distract you from safe riding practices.

What safety features does the app provide?

WindRider includes route safety features (avoiding dangerous road types when possible), motion-based safety insights (lean angle monitoring, braking analysis), and personalized safety recommendations based on your riding style.
